Dr. Rengarajan Janakiraman, MD

Dr. Rengarajan Janakiraman is an ABPM-certified Pain Medicine and ABA-certified Anesthesiology specialist at Bristol Hospital. With extensive training across India, Canada, and the United States, he has completed fellowships in Clinical Anesthesia, Pain Medicine, and Regional Anesthesia at prestigious institutions such as the University of Ottawa and the University of Iowa.

He has served in various leadership and academic roles, including Medical Director at Medforte Health Care, Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut, and Anesthesiologist at multiple hospitals across Connecticut. Actively involved in research, Dr. Janakiraman has authored numerous publications in pain management, regional anesthesia, and perioperative care.

Dr. Janakiraman has received several awards, including the Subspecialty Teacher of the Year Award from the University of Connecticut and the Kenneth H. Wells Distinguished Faculty Award from
Hartford Hospital. He has presented at national and international conferences on innovative pain management techniques and serves as a board member for the Connecticut Society of Anesthesiologists.

His professional interests include technological innovations in anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and interventional pain management. Outside of medicine, he enjoys photography, sketching, cricket, woodworking, and fixing film cameras.
